Public Hazard Interventions
Many insects are vectors for the dissemination of diseases. In Western New
York, two such insects merit special attention and are treated by The Tree
Doctor
- West Nile Virus - mosquitoes transmit this virus
- Heavy "backyard" populations of mosquitoes can be controlled by elimination
or treatment of standing water and by judicious spray applications
- Lyme Disease - this disease is carried by ticks that travel on deer – these
ticks then get deposited on residential trees and shrubs
- The Tree Doctor will (a) deter deer traffic, and (b) spray to eradicate
ticks
